Practice History

The Aberfoyle Medical Practice was founded in 1946, by Dr Denis Cavanagh who worked there until his death in 1960.

  • Dr Michael McCloskey was partner until he died in 1964.
  • Dr Peter Fallon spent 46 years at the practice until his retirement in 1996. Peter died in 1999.
  • Dr Tom McGinley retired in 1997, but continues his work as Director of the Foyle Hospice.
  • Dr Vincent Cavanagh retired from General Practice in 2002.
  • Dr Bronagh MacMahon retired from General Practice on 30th June 2005.
  • Dr Donna Mace joined the practice as a partner in January 2008.
  • Dr Patrick McEvoy retired from General Practice on 31st March 2012.
  • Dr Neil McKeon joined the practice as a partner on 1st April 2012.
  • Dr Orla Quigley retired from General Practice on 30th September 2013.
  • Dr Peter O’Boyle joined the practice as a partner on 1st October 2013.
  • Dr Richard Mullan left on 30th September 2016.
  • Dr Angela Loftus became a partner in the practice on 1st October 2016
  • Dr Mary-Jo Lowe left the Practice on 27th July 2017
  • Dr Sian-Lee Ewan joined the Practice on 1st January 2017
  • Dr Laura Moore joined the Practice on 25th September 2017
  • Dr Aine Abbott joined the Practice on 5th December 2017
